quartile
One of the three points that divide a set of numerically ordered data into four equal parts. These three points are called the first quartile (also called the lower quartile), second quartile (the middle quartile; it is the median), and the third quartile (upper quartile), respectively. They can be used to give us some idea of the spread of data.
