absolute error
The difference between the measured value or the approximation of a quantity and the true value.

When 0.6 is used as an approximation for 0.613, the error equals (0.6-0.613), which is -0.013 (some people define the error to be 0.613-0.6). In this case, the absolute error is |0.6-0.613|, which is 0.013.
